The Bible and history confirm that Jesus founded the Catholic Church
When Simon met Jesus for the first time, he said, “Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas...” (John 1:42). Cephas means “rock” in Aramaic, which is the language that Jesus spoke, as confirmed in Matthew 27:46 when Jesus cried out, “Eli, Eli, lamma sabacthani,” on the cross. The true meaning of Cephas has been lost in the various translations to the English equivalent name of Peter. Reflect now on Jesus’ words to St Peter [Cephas] in the Gospel of Matthew:
“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter [Cephas]; and upon this rock [Cephas] I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18–19)
Jesus was referring to building his Church on Cephas, the Rock, and not something else, which some have incorrectly assumed. Our Father God confirms this through Fernanda de Sequeira [2]:
“My Son Jesus instructed and entrusted St Peter in the beginning times before his resurrection as in my Son’s holy Word, ‘Peter you are the Rock of my Church: on you I build this Church.’” (14/04/2014)
Historically speaking, Peter laid the foundation and operational structure of the first Church, and the subsequent papal lineage, as declared by Jesus, is bound in heaven and continues to this day. Indeed, St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Italy, is built on St Peter’s tomb, the foundation stone (rock) of the Church. This is further confirmation of Christ’s prophecy.
St Paul gives further affirmation that the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth and we must hold onto our traditions, as has been the case since Christ died nearly 2,000 years ago:
“Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.” (2 Thessalonians 2:14). “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15)
Our loving Father is a God of unity. He would not want to confuse us by giving us conflicting sets of rules by which to live, as is evident by St Paul’s assertion to the Corinthians:
“For God is not the God of dissension, but of peace: as also I teach in all the churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
Throughout Church history, those who promoted disunity in the Church and decided to create their own breakaway Churches were going against God’s will. This trend continues today with many self-proclaimed prophets, each promoting his or her own “flavour” of the truth, as Christ warned us would happen in our End Times [3]. Instead, we should be promoting unity and encouraging all to unite with Christ, his living Body and Blood, in the Holy Eucharist at Holy Mass. Jesus Christ told us:
“Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, the same also shall live by me.” (John 6:54–58)
It is only in Holy Mass that we can truly eat of Christ’s flesh and drink his blood, his Precious Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist, which unite us with him, give us new life and allow Jesus to reside in us and manifest through us – as he did and continues to do through his saints.
If we love Christ, when priests and other religious people in the Church make mistakes in their implementation of the truth, we should pray for them and help to build up Christ’s Church, as opposed running away and breaking it down. The laity also constitute the Church, the Body of Christ, and are equally responsible for building the Church, as are the pope, bishops, priests, nuns and other clergy. Christ never said that all in the Church would be saints (which, of course, is his desire) or that all would be perfect counsellors. However, he did confirm in Matthew 16:18 that his Church is the foundation of truth and that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. History has shown this to be the case where, despite some implementation error, the Catholic Church has stood firm and never gone back on its teachings of morality or dogmatic declarations from popes on matters of faith. According to Canon 749.1: “By virtue of his office, the Supreme Pontiff possesses infallibility in teaching when as the supreme pastor and teacher of all the Christian faithful, who strengthens his brothers and sisters in the faith, he proclaims by definitive act that a doctrine of faith or morals is to be held.” In defence of the Church, the occasional popes who had questionable conduct never made such declarations, which proves the protection of the Holy Spirit on the Church.
We must also not forget that the Bible is a product of the Catholic Church. The books of the New Testament were written only in around ad 50, while the Church began 20 years earlier at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles. It was only about 300 years after the last book was written that the bishops were able to openly meet, without being killed or imprisoned by pagan authorities, to finalise the 73 books of the Bible. At that time there was only one universal Christian Church, the Catholic Church, and some of its saints were the authors of the New Testament. The original copies of these Scriptures have since disintegrated and are no longer available but, by God’s grace, the 4th century Latin translation thereof, the Latin Vulgate (by St Jerome), has been accurately retained for 1,600 years, and in 1546 was officially and exclusively declared as authentic by the Catholic Church [4]. Direct vernacular translations of the Latin Vulgate, such as the English Douay-Rheims Bible, have also retained their integrity [5]. Unfortunately, despite this declaration of truth, many bibles in circulation today go against this decree, housing changes that contradict the original Word of God. These changes were spearheaded by those who broke away from the Catholic Church in the 1,500’s and have resulted confusion amongst Christians today [6]. God gave us a stern warning about those who changed his Word:
“For I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book. He that giveth testimony of these things, saith, Surely I come quickly: Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:18–20)
Despite Jesus telling us that, “heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass” (Matthew 24:35), many have through disobedience and pride taken it upon themselves to change the living Word of God to suit themselves. This struggle with evil has been with the Church since the beginning, as St Paul forewarned:
“I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. For I give you to understand, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For neither did I receive it of man, nor did I learn it; but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 1:6−12)
Indeed, the world today is flooded with such man and angel-founded religions, all fuelled by evil to create disunity and confusion. Many have fallen for Satan’s lies of trying to make people think that God reveals himself in all religions, not realising that a loving Father would not bring this confusion to his children.
The fruits of the saints confirm God’s hand in his Church
Further proof of the presence of God in his Church are the many thousands of historically documented miracles of the saints while alive, plus the millions recorded as a result of their intercession after death. Millions of people in different parts of the world cannot be telling the same lie regarding their encounters with God and his saints. To deny miracles that are inexplicable by science and documented by many throughout history (such as the presence of incorruptible bodies in shrines around the world that are available for all to see), is to deny the truth [7].
Before ascending into heaven, Jesus Christ told us:
“Otherwise believe for the very works’ sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do.” (John 14:12)
This certainly is the case with many of the thousands of canonised saints who have walked this earth. The one thread common to all the saints, through whom Christ’s love truly manifested (and continues to in eternity), is that they allowed the Holy Spirit to fully abide in them through love and obedience to the Triune God; devotion to Mary, the Mother of the Saviour of the world; the Bible; regular Confession; daily Eucharist were possible; regular fasting and works of mercy [8]. God grants graces and miracles to anyone who truly seeks him, Catholic or not. However, no other religious grouping comes close, in terms of the sheer number of miracles, to those witnessed in the Catholic Church or the longevity and fruits that they left behind in their charities and missions.
In the words of Mother Mary to Alan Ames [9]:
“To be nice, to be good, to love God and to live close to God is not reserved for Catholics. There are many others who are this way but by birth have been educated to believe in another way, which even may not be the way of Jesus. These people are letting God's love that is in them shine and these people are often closer to God than many Catholics. Catholicism is the true faith of God but it does not mean an automatic right to heaven. How you live in God's love and how you love God is what brings you to heaven. Catholics should remember theirs is the true faith but they should also remember how they live their faith is how they will be judged. It is the same for non-Catholics; they will be judged on their lives and they will be shown God's mercy, the same as Catholics will. It is important however to spread the word of Catholicism to non-believers so that they can come closer to God in His true body, the Catholic Church." (03/01/1997)
The devil has cleverly kept most of mankind ignorant about God’s true followers: his holy saints. They are living testimonies of Christ’s image and promises. In the words of St Padre Pio, one of the great saints of the 20th century, who had the gift of bilocation, the stigmata wounds of Christ and could read souls in Confession, “Keep close to the Catholic Church at all times, for the Church alone can give you true peace, since she alone possesses Jesus, the true Prince of Peace in the Blessed Sacrament.”
Unlike others, Catholic doctrine aligns heaven and earth to the same Creator
Catholicism is also the only religion in the world that doctrinally confirms the fact that we are made in God’s image from a familial and monarchical perspective. We have our Triune God at the centre of it all, with the angels and saints in heaven fighting a spiritual battle with us [10], who, in the name of Jesus, are helping us to come to heaven and through whom we are encouraged to ask for assistance. Our earthly families are also in the image of our heavenly family: we are God’s and Mother Mary’s children, as is the case with our earthly father and mother, and have brothers and sisters in Christ on earth and in heaven. In heaven, we have our Lord Jesus Christ, the Sovereign King, ruling with Mother Mary, the Queen of Heaven, with their angels and saints of varying roles and responsibilities. We see the same on earthly monarchical kingdoms of old, which God led through his prophets: the Kings and Queens together with their servants and citizens.
Look at Satanists: they directly assault the Catholic Church
To further understand the truth, let’s have a look at what God’s enemy is doing. In Satanism, when black masses are celebrated, all 12 steps of Satanic pact oppose everything that the Catholic Church stands for: the seven Sacraments, Mother Mary, the saints and of course, Jesus Christ himself [11]. In underground satanic circles, consecrated hosts are stolen exclusively from Catholic Churches around the world and sold on the black market to Satanists and to those who practise witchcraft. Satanists know that a consecrated host is the Body and Blood of Christ, and that it hurts Jesus and his Blessed Mother when they perform their sacrileges on him, which includes human sacrifices to Satan [12]. This in itself is proof that the true Church of God is the Catholic Church.
We must also ask the question why it is that the Catholic Church comes under the most attack today. The press and media are quick to crucify any Catholic who missteps, in particular, priests, who come under the most attack from Satan. Today, many websites and online social media groups exist that are dedicated to spreading lies about the Church and all it stands for, including our holy pope. The reason for this is because Satan knows that if he can get priests to stop celebrating Mass and people to stop attending Holy Mass, then there will be no more living sacrifice of Jesus, graces will stop coming to earth and we will all descend into darkness. The farther away Satan can get people from the Catholic Church, the better. He knows full well that the true power of God lies in the Holy Mass, Jesus’ living sacrifice and in mankind having his Precious Body and Blood worthily through regular Confession. The fewer people making use of these Sacraments, the more sin there is in the world. More sin gives authority to evil spirits of confusion and mind control, which block people from seeing the truth and hence attack the Catholic Church, instead of praying for it and the salvation of all of mankind.
Through Fernanda de Sequeira, Father God, in relation to a priest who had been ensnared by Satan’s evil tricks [13], said,
“Oh, we do not want our son priests to be criticised but instead, pray for them to be saved from this kind of sin against heaven and from committing deeper sins. I, your Father God, I come to you and ask you to use your time to pray as much as possible because many more, who are hiding in the dark, will come to the light in this dark age of my Son’s Church. Only fervent prayers can help my Son Jesus’ Church survive this mediocrity crisis, the perfidious lies that come upon them through evil trickery to destroy my Son’s Church. Holy Mass is needed and can be celebrated only through my son priests. Without my son priests there will be no more consecration of my Son’s Precious Body and Blood, Holy Mass and holy sacraments. This is me, your Father God. I am asking you to pray, pray, pray before it is too late, to save the decay and destruction of my son priests, the Church, the Rock of the Church.” (14/04/2014)
Despite all the chaos in the world and the attacks on our Church, its priests and everything it stands for, we must not fear: our Lord Jesus Christ has told us that he will never desert us and the gates of hell will not prevail against his Church. We must carry our crosses, use God’s Sacraments to purify our souls and give us strength, be merciful, pray for our persecutors and gently guide them to the truth.
Meditating on God the Father and Jesus Christ’s words today
God the Father instructs his Church today through Alan Ames [14]:
“The Church must stand firm in my truth and love, no matter how the world assails it. Mankind's changing opinions and laws cannot alter my truth. Mankind's sins cannot change my love, and so it must be with my church; it must not change to suit mankind. The Church must be a bastion of hope in a world filled with despair. The Church must stand high above the turmoil on the world. The Church must be obedient to my will, and by its obedience bring all mankind to be the same. The Church must be for all peoples and deny none. The Church must open its arms in love, even to its fiercest opponent. The Church must bring the graces and gifts I give to it, to every corner of the earth. The Church must be universal in its love of me, and keep to the guidelines that Jesus My Son gave to it. The Church must remain true to the Catholic name it bears, for the Church is my light in the world, and to shine brightly, it must be as I ask.” (01/07/1999)
Today, Jesus Christ gives us the perfect historical and spiritual summary of his Church, from early days until today, through Alan Ames [15]:
“My Church came into being the day I gave my life for my children on earth: the new Church of God that was to bring all my children back to my love: the new Church of God that was to show the way to heaven in humility and love.
“In the beginning it was small with a few followers but then, as my apostles and my disciples spread my love throughout mankind, the Church grew and grew. So many sought my love, so many wanted to be saved and so many began to follow my Word.
“When I gave my dear friend and Apostle Peter the keys of heaven, I did it so all would know that my Word, my Spirit would be spoken through this man. Peter led the early Church deeper into my heart by his love of me and his example of how to love for God in humility and trust. When I chose another to spread my Word to the gentiles, Peter did not complain, Peter did not feel hurt or rejected, Peter accepted in humility my love. Peter accepted in love my decision for he knew this was part of my plan for the saving grace to be offered to all of mankind. Peter welcomed Paul unto my Church and encouraged him to continue to spread my Word and my gifts to all who sought them. Peter saw that if I wanted my Holy Spirit to come into others then it must be, for it is God’s wish. Peter, who guided in love the foundation of the early Church, sought to bring my love to all but to bring it by my wishes, not his. Peter who opened his arms in love to all mankind, wanting only to show my love and mercy to everyone.
“When Peter gave the keys of heaven to the next head of my Church he gave him the same power I gave Peter, for when the keys were passed on I passed on my blessing. The responsibility that came with leading my Church was the responsibility of spreading my Word and my love to all, to welcome all into my Church, to welcome all in humility and love. To be a living example of the love of God and to be a loving example of the life that leads to God. This example was to show all mankind the true faith in God, the faith that comes with being filled with the Holy Spirit and trusting completely in God. Sometimes human emotions, human needs, and human desires would get into the way but with trust in the Holy Spirit these would be overcome.
“As time went on and the Church grew more and more and then as political and even military pressures were put upon the Church, sometimes the trust in God that was supposed to be there was forgotten. This was not because of God turning his back on the Church but it was due to the humanness of those within the Church. Sometimes fear, greed, lust, power and wealth influenced decisions that should have been only influenced by the Holy Spirit. With trust in God, complete trust in God, the mistakes would have been avoided. In his love the Holy Spirit took the wrong choices made within the Church and turned them into victories for God, turned them into a strengthening of the Church.
“Each time there was a weakness or an error appearing in the Church the evil one, of course, would do his best to exploit it and try to destroy God’s Church by creating division and unrest. Within the Church many people were, and still are, confused by the evil one, confused into disagreeing with what God’s chosen leader asks, confused even to disagree with the Commandments of God. When God said “Thou shalt not kill”, there is no justification for changing it and when the Holy Father says abortion is wrong he is only restating God’s Commandment and there is no justification for opposing it.
“The evil one, however, makes some within the Church disagree and then fester in their discontent. Often what happens is they leave the Church, even form Churches of their own. This is how Satan tries to divide the Church so that he can conquer it. The new churches are then formed on what man disagrees with from God and in their pride many do not, can not, and will not admit to this. If a church is formed from man’s pride and not his humility, from what man wants and not what God wants, from what man sees as right not from what God says is right, then it can only be a deception to take good people away from God. If, when there are mistakes made within the Church of God, those who see them pray for God’s will to be done and accept God’s will with humility, then the mistakes will be overcome. If they do not do this then it is their pride, their humanity that is ruling their heart and not the love of God. Remember how Peter acted in humility and love and imitated his actions for God.
“Remember also there is only one God and there should only be one Church, the Church that came from God’s Son Jesus through Peter and then his successors. The Church that is universal, the Church that is for all, the Church of God that is his Body, one Body. The divisions are not from God, they are of mankind. Become united in one Church, the true Church that follows Jesus’ Word, accepts Jesus’ truth and worships the Holy Trinity as the one true God.” (30/09/1995)
[3] Matthew 24:11, Mathew 24:24, Mark 13:22.
[4] See “Canons and Decrees of the Council of Trent”, The Fourth Session, Celebrated on the eighth day of the month of April 1546, under Pope Paul III: “Moreover, the same holy council considering that not a little advantage will accrue to the Church of God if it be made known which of all the Latin editions of the sacred books now in circulation is to be regarded as authentic, ordains and declares that the old Latin Vulgate Edition, which, in use for so many hundred years, has been approved by the Church, be in public lectures, disputations, sermons and expositions held as authentic, and that no one dare or presume under any pretext whatsoever to reject it.”
[5] By comparing the living word of God through his visionaries with Bibles today, in my research, I have come to discover that the most accurate English translation of the Bible is the Douay-Rheims. I would strongly recommend to the serious researcher to cross-check verses with this Bible before making any conclusions of interpretation. See www.drbo.org for an online version.
[6] Many Bibles in circulation have hundreds of defiled verses relating to doing penance and the remission of sins (Confession), the Eucharist, the saints, the church of the saints, the first Commandment of God (graven imagery), Jesus’ ongoing suffering, God’s nature (making him seem harsh), Mother Mary, the gospel of peace (replacing with a prosperity gospel), hell, the mighty and the poor, clemency, vanity, bishops, priests, chastity, modesty, prudence, sobriety, patience, meekness, justice and humility.
[11] According Fr Gabriel Amorth, who has performed more than 70,000 exorcisms, in his book An Exorcist – More Stories (Ignatius, 1992), the 12 steps of a satanic pact in a black mass involve abjuring Christian Baptism; abjuring all the faith in the Eucharist; refusing obedience to God and accepting the will of Satan, Lucifer or Beelzebub; rejecting the Virgin Mary; rejecting the Catholic Sacraments; stepping on a cross; stepping on images of the Virgin Mary and the saints; swearing eternal allegiance to the prince of darkness by swearing on diabolical scriptures; being baptised in the name of the devil, and choosing an appropriate name; receiving on the thigh, by means of a diabolical imprint, the mark of a sect; choosing a godfather and a godmother within the sect; profaning the Host (Body of Christ) without profaning the Tabernacle, that is, receiving Communion and preserving the Sacred Particles, which will be desecrated in a black mass. Ex-Satanists, whom we have helped in our deliverance ministry, have also confirmed this.
[12] Killing adults, children or aborting the unborn in a mother’s womb are all acceptable to sacrifices Satan. He has deceived many in the world today who think that abortion is not murder and that the baby does not feel or know about it.
